Important Information

So technically there have been a lot of posts today, and as far as I am aware this is going to be the last one. But I just wanted to mention that there have been two links added to the blog. One is for a Flickr account where pictures from Eric's mission will be added. And the other is the previously mentioned Tacoma Washington mission blog.

Both links can be found on the right side of the blog.

Letter #3: March 19, 2013

Note from the Editor: Letter was written on March 8th, but received on March 19th.

Dear Family,

A lot has happened since i last wrote you. I moved from the MTC to the field. I am serving in the Poulsbo 1st Ward in Poulsbo, WA. It is beautiful out here. I feel like I am in Yellowstone because of the amount of trees. It is really cool. We drove over the Tacoma Narrows bridge. It is a gorgeous bridge, it spans the Puget Sound. Best scenery I have ever seen.

The area I am serving in hasn't had a baptism in fourteen months but me and my companion are going to change that. We already have three people on date for baptism. I went knocking on doors for the first time tonight. No one slammed the door in my face and we taught all but one person about the church. The people are very nice here.

The ward supplied everything for our apartment. They are very excited to have us in their ward. The first few days were rough from everything. New place/companion to homesickness but I am getting over it as I get more into the work.

There is a mission blog that they run that you should check out. It is a blog about our mission.

Remember to send my camera and Camelback reservoir. I love you guys a lot. This area is really cool. the people and my ward are really cooperative. Can you guys send me all my classical music and Paul Cardall on some CD's so I can listen to music while I study and drive around to appointments?

Tell Kristine if she gets a black car to name it Giuseppe the Stallion, but I like Nigel the Asian Narwhal.

My P-Day is Monday so send me emails.

I love you guys lots.

Sincerely,
Elder Eric L. Peay
Elder Homunculus
Elder Little Billy

P.S. I have a seashell from the Puget Sound for you guys.

Letter #2: March 18, 2013

Note from the Editor: This is an email from Elder Peay, sent to Kristine as a response to her email.

I am doing well. It is nice up here in Washington. It is green all year round. The cloudy season is starting clear up and the sun is coming out. The scenery reminds me of Yellowstone, there is no inversion or bad air. There are tall green pine trees everywhere. It is really nice. I think you would like it up here, but I still like Utah better. Though I do have a really nice view of the Puget Sound, I think it is gorgeous.

My companion is Elder Meyer. He is from Toolee. You know what it is, but I don't know how to spell it off the top of my head. He is pretty cool. He reminds me a lot of AJ with the way his sense of humor works. No stories that are too interesting yet, but I am sure I will have some in the near future.

The work has been going fairly well. The first week started out really well, then we hit the second week and everything has slowed down. Our investigators have been flaking out on their appointments. We do have two people on date for Baptism though that are regular attendants to Church, so hopefully we will have a baptism soon.

I am sorry you and Tyler have had a falling out but things will get better. If there is one thing I have learned thus far, it is that you need to be exactly obedient to the Lord and His commandments. Obedience brings good things but exact obedience brings miracles. Obey everything or you will have little to no success.

I agree with the little girls. The car will be named Mildred the Polar Bear. It is good that Darin came out of surgery with no complications. I hope he gets better soon. I think that a new sound system in the car will do you good. I will very much enjoy riding in it when I get back if you still have it.

Stay with the church and really try to build your testimony. Read your scriptures for a half hour each day and that will help a lot. You are strong willed so if you put your mind to it you can achieve it.

I love you lots.

Sincerely,
Elder Homunculus

Letter #1: February 25, 2013

Dear Mom and Family,

I am doing well. The first night was a little emotional for all of us. The Spirit is so strong here. The closest I can describe the feeling of the Spirit here is the Endowment ceremony constantly. The way they teach us is a whole different kind of teaching. It is quite taxing on the mind, but I have learned so much about my purpose as a missionary.

The Spirit of learning is like a fire hose trying to shoot through a hole the size of a pencil eraser. There is so much to take in and I am doing my best. Singing hymns you have sung before have new meaning. I almost teared up singing "We are the Army of Helaman". You can feel the surge of the Spirit as the body of missionaries sing, also it is like a tingling sensation throughout the body. The things I have learned before have new meaning also. I watched a movie called "Lifting Burdens" that really hit me and I started to choke up a little. You can watch it on mormon.org.

I am bunked with three other missionaries. My companions name is Elder McLelland. He is pretty cool.

I am set to be released on Feb. 17, 2015. I depart the MTC, March 5. So if this is my only letter that is why, but you should get this and be able to write back.

I need my mission email and I need you to submit a request to the Church Historians office so I can get my line of authority. I will enclose my address so you can mail me.

I love you guys very much. I haven't read your letters yet, but I will soon. I miss you a lot and look forward to the mission and the blessings you and I will receive.

Sincerely,

Elder Eric Peay
Your Son/Elder Homunculus

As We Embark...

While Eric is on his mission and spending his time doing worthwhile service for the Lord, this blog will be updated as regularly as possible with information about Eric and his mission.

The current plan is to add any letters, information, pictures and tidbits onto this blog so that as many people as possible can know about how he is doing and what is going on during the course of his service for the Lord.

Updated information will be added as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or requests, Kristine is in charge of this, and you should ask her.
